Ultra violet clarifiers (UV-C) are used in ponds to eliminate water born Pest Called algae which turns the pond water green or brown and starves it of oxygen.

Some oxygen is produce by plants in the daytime in a process calledphotosynthesis. But when night comes along; The Algae, plants & fish all compete for the oxygen availabilty. One of the main reason why Filtration systems should be running 24 / 7.  

Thus reducing the algae to a bare minimum in the pond will allow the fish to breathe easier minimising stress and the risk of disease.

When Should I Replace my UVC Lamp?

The UV Lamp in a Ultra Violet Clarifier (UV-C) will still indicate after 12 months, thru inspection site hole that its still operating; but the effectiveness of the lamp declines over time.That's why here at L.S.G we recommend replacing the UV Lamp at least every 12 months in order to get the best results from your UVC Lamp.

So your pond can look its best all year round.
